Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. At first glance this looks like just another locally owned dive cafe. But, take a closer look. We ended up stopping in because our second choice was packed and this was in the area. The salad bar is clean. It has home made sides (pasta salad, potato salad, etc). The server had a real sence of urgency and made sure we were well taken care of for the entire visit. All of the food was pretty good. Free soft serve ice cream with every meal. Spent only 98 bucks to feed 12. We'll be back.

Tenderloin is pretty good but other than that nothing too special about the place I would say. Service has always been excellent and not overpriced. Place as a whole needs a much needed update. Specifically the decor.

We went to the Parthenon after watching the annual Rodeo Parade in Ft. Madison. The place was absolutely packed and we were lucky to get the last available table in the place. I dined with my mother-in-law, and two young children. I have to be honest and say that it's been several weeks since my visit and I hardly remember what I ate. I just remember that the service was mediocre, but to their credit it truly was packed. The food was mediocre as well. My MIL had the tenderloin sandwich, and although it was huge, she said it was bland. My oldest daughter had a cheese pizza and it was REALLY good. My youngest daughter had chicken nuggets and they were bland. I don't even remember what I had. The Parthenon is an institution in Ft. Madison and I'd like to go again. I think maybe the crowd kept me from having a memorable experience. I'll try it again and see how it goes.

OMG! let me put it to ya this way. If you're on "Yelp" and have a smart phone you are way out of class for this place. what a dumpy, low-class, trailer-trash restaurant. i don't even know where to start. save yourself the anguish from going to this dump. really!!!!

American Diner with all your favorite Diner menu items. Their Pork Tenderloin sandwiches are huge and tasty, but are more like Pork Fritters than traditional tenderloins for this area - I suspect they are mechanically formed and not hand breaded. Nice Salad Bar. Pizza is OK, but not spectacular. Steaks are ok. They even serve GYROS. Not quite the same as you can get in Chicago or other metro areas with large Greek populations where the GYRO meat is sliced off a verticle rotisserie, but they do serve it with authentic tzatziki sauce, onion and tomato on a toasted pita. It was OK. The Parthenon is a comfortable, casual and dependable restaurant. I've always received great service and good tasty food. Classic small town diner. Décor is hopelessly outdated circa 1970s.
